# Delete your account

> How to delete your Traackly account, what happens to your data, and how to change your mind.

## How to delete it

1. Go to **Settings**, **Account**, and click **Delete Account**.
2. Enter your password (if you have one) and type **DELETE** to confirm.

## What happens

- Your subscription is canceled immediately. The unused part of your period is not refunded, but your [14-day right to withdraw](/docs/account/refunds) still applies: email support@traackly.com within 14 days of subscribing.
- Your forwarding address and API keys stop working.
- You are signed out, and we email you a confirmation.

## After you delete your account

Your data is kept for a period, then permanently deleted. We email you before.

- **Changed your mind?** Sign in and choose a plan. Your expenses and settings come back. Create new API keys and a new forwarding address if you need them.
- **Want it gone now?** Sign in and choose **Delete Account** on the screen you see. Everything is deleted immediately.

Some records are kept longer where the law requires it, such as billing records. The [Privacy Policy](/privacy) lists them.

Deleting your Traackly account doesn't delete any account you have with Stripe, where your receipts from Stripe are kept. Stripe's own pages let you manage or delete it.
